How do I make a booking?

You can make a booking through the Chore Market app, or on the web. We’ll collect a few personal details (like your name and phone number), your address (so a professional is able to find your home), and your payment information (because cash is so last century). After that, we’ll send a confirmation email.

To get a quote, simply start making a booking. Once we know some details about your needs, we’ll show you the price. Keep in mind that bookings carry a three hour minimum.

Do I need to be home?

Whether or not you’re home during your booking is up to you! When you make a booking, you’ll be prompted to give your professional entry instructions. If you have a doorman or can hide a key somewhere, there’s no need for you to be home. Or, feel free to stick around during the booking. Whatever you’re most comfortable with is fine.

In any case, please don’t forget about your bookings. We’ll remind you with an email, a text message, and a push notification, but if your pro can’t get in the door by following your entry instructions, or if you aren’t home when you said you would be, you’ll be charged the full cost of the booking.

How do I make an account?

What's the cancellation policy?

  • Reschedule or skip any booking for free with at least 24 hours notice.
  • However, rescheduling or skipping a booking with short notice can cause the professionals using our platform to lose valuable work. Therefore, if you make a change to a booking between 2-24 hours of the booking start you’ll be charged a fee (15 AED). If you skip or cancel within two hours, the charge of the booking won’t be refunded.
  • Permanently cancel your cleaning plan for free, with the same notice.

The scope of work that you were charged for was not completed to your satisfaction, or your property was damaged as a direct result of the service booked through the Chore Market platform
The service was completed within the past 72 hours. For recurring services, each appointment is treated as a separate occurrence.
Your account is in good standing without unpaid balances
In the event of damage or a missing item, Chore Market will require documentation to prove value, ownership and damage in order to process the claim

About Handyman Services

What services are offered?

We admit that “handyman” is a pretty generic word, but that’s because the professionals on the platform can accommodate a wide range of requests.

From AC Installation to hanging the TV, to Pest Control, these professionals can get it done, and they can get it done the right way.

There are limitations, of course. Since professionals on the Handy platform are all independent service providers, we can’t guarantee that they’re licensed in their field, and thus, they can’t perform services that require a license. Rules are rules, y’know?

How are handyman services priced?

All of our services are billed hourly, and there’s a two hour minimum. Depending on the size of the job, it’ll take more time. Materials are extra, so if you’re getting something like drywall repaired, you need to provide or pay for the drywall. Same with a TV installation.

Can I book more than one professional?

Some jobs can’t be done by one person alone. Normally, our professionals work individually, rather than in teams. If you think your job will require an extra set of hands, arms, or drill bits, please make a second booking at the same time as the first, and two professionals will arrive. We’ll leave the introductions up to the three of you, but in our experience, friendly handshakes are a good starting point.

Who is responsible for tools, supplies, & materials?

The professionals come equipped with all of the tools they’ll need to get the job done, along with basic supplies like nails, screws, glues, and other handy things (that pun is mostly unintended). As far as heftier materials go (like drywall or the fixtures being installed), you’ll have to arrange with your pro whether you will provide them or if you’d like them to purchase them on your behalf. If they purchase the materials, the cost will be added to your final Chore Market invoice.

About Home Cleaning Services

How do I book an individual cleaning?

Need to book a single cleaning service after that last dinner party you hosted? Not sure what city you’ll be in a week from now, let alone what your plans are in a month?

Our cleaning plans are designed to be flexible and adapt to your schedule, but if you want to book an impromptu one-time cleaning service, you’re able to do so through the site or our app as a supplement to your cleaning plan.

What's included in a cleaning service?

Our standard cleaning service includes all of the basics you need to get your home in order.

How are bookings priced?

Our services are priced hourly. Each booking has to be a minimum of three hours. To get an estimate, start making a booking and select the service you want.

Our cleaning plans offer automatically-scheduled cleaning services at an interval of your choice. You’ll be billed for your first booking when you checkout for the first time, and subsequent bookings are billed 24 hours before the start time.

Do cleaners bring their own supplies?

The Chore Market platform works when professionals are always prepared. Generally, they’ll bring:

  • rags and wipes
  • various cleaning solutions
  • a combination floor sweeper-mop

If you have your own cleaning supplies that you’d prefer your professional to use, that’s wonderful!
